Q:
MOTU Issue: Adjusting Mixing Board Settings
A:
Adjusting Mixing Board Settings in versions previous to DP 2.7
If you wish to adjust volume and pan levels via the Mixing Board, and rewind a sequence without having the volume and pan levels "jump" back to their original levels, be sure to turn automation off. Turn automation off by clicking onto the "Auto" buttons in the Mixing Board so they do not appear highlighted. With automation off, you can adjust volume and pan settings while the sequence plays back. Once levels are set to desired settings, you may rewind the sequence and snapshot the levels in the Mixing Board. Turning on Auto will allow you to record more automation on top of your default settings. Mixing in DP 2.7 or higher With automation enabled, Digital Performer 2.7 or higher will only automate your mix if you have purposely created automation in a track.
