Sample rate is the frequency that audio is sampled per second. For example, a sample rate of 44.1 KHz means that 44,100 samples of audio are recorded per second. Digital Performer and all MOTU audio hardware deals with Sampling rates of 44.1KHz and 48KHz. When doing digital transfers between different devices it's important to make sure that both devices are at the same sampling rate.
