I would like to have the foot controller control the volume for only the string part in my performance. How can I do that with the Motif?

In Performance mode, you can set each of the parts to either receive or not receive FC1 and FC2. Go to Individual Part Edit ( Press edit and then the number 1-4 of the part you want to edit) then press F5 rcv Sw (Receive Switch). Pressing SF5 will toggle between seeing 1 receive parameter for 4 parts or all the receive parameters for one part. Press SF5 if you need to see all the parameters, and check or uncheck the boxes for FC1 and FC2. Press store to store the Performance after you are finished.

These receive parameters can be programmed for each Part of all 128 Performances.
