Why does my Mackie Control freeze?
A:
Most likely, it is either the software or MIDI communication that is the problem since the Mackie Control is just a simple controller. When it locks up, you can test it by plugging a MIDI cable between the Mackie's MIDI out and MIDI in. The following should happen:
Moving faders will cause the signal light on that channel to flash. The faders should stay in the position they're moved to. Pressing solo/select/mute/rec ready/transport controls, and any other button with a light over it will cause the light to light while you press the button. The screen will not display anything different. If it responds like this, it is something in your software or MIDI interface which is causing the disruption.
