Q:
What are the minimum MacOS system requirements for MachFive?
A:
MachFive requires the following minimum for Mac system?
- a G3/500 Mhz Power Macintosh or faster; because MachFive is heavily optimized for the Mac Altivec Velocity Engine, a G4/800mHz or faster is recommended. Visit motu.com for information on G5 compatibility - A minimum of 256 MB (Megabytes) of RAM is required. However, since MachFive loads samples into the computer's RAM, 256 MB will only allow approximately 64MB of samples to be loaded. Therefore, for best performance, add as much RAM as possible to your computer. AT LEAST 1024 MB (1 Gigabyte) of RAM is highly recommended. - Mac OS9 or Mac OS 10.2 (or later) - And audio sequencer package. The following versions are recommended by MOTU: Digital Performer 2.72 or higher, ProTools LE 5.01 or higher, ProTools TDM 5.1 or higher, Logic Audio 5.1 or higher (Logic 4 not recommended) Cubase 5.1 or higher, and Nuendo. - A large hard drive (preferably at least 20 GB)
