Q:
The samples I've imported from antoher format sound different than they did on their original sampler. Why?
A:
UVI-Xtract is designed to bring all available information for a third party sample format into MachFive. In some cases, the original sampler will have a capability that is not found in MachFive. For example, when importing Kurzweil samples, MachFive will get the samples, but does not include the elements of sound that were made by the Kurzweil synthesizer section. It is also possible that a third-party sample library is written in a way that MachFive does not support. MachFive is designed to have the best possible sample import. If you have a sample disk that is not translating completely or properly into MachFive, contact MOTU tech support to let them know. If MOTU can add support for a certain library or feature, they'll make every effort to do so.
