Q:
My Cakewalk Sonar & MOTU audio system don't seem to get as many tracks as they should without dropping out. I'm using WDM/MME drivers. What can I do to get better performance?
A:
One thing to try is to make sure you have the latest version of Sonar: 2.2. This includes ASIO drivers which work well with the MOTU and it's a free update from Sonar 2.x series.
If you still prefer to use WDM drivers, you can edit the AUD.INI file in the C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Sonar 2 folder. Under [Wave] (about 1/3 of the way down), add/edit this line to read: KsUseInputEvent=1 It may be set to =0 or it may not exist. Save this file and launch Sonar again. It should help WDM performance.

I can't just install the ASIO driver for the MOTU PCI324 series in Windows XP; it keeps searching for hardware and has no drivers. What's wrong? My MOTU PCI324 ASIO driver does not seem to work in Cakewalk Sonar under Windows XP. What can I do? I want to use the Gigaport headphone output for prelistening, how do I have to configure the outputs in Traktor? How do I load my mp3's from my i-tunes into Traktor. I need the info for where to put the emagic asio drivers for Traktor on my ibook. |
