How does the software receive sync from the SMPTE input of my MOTU 828...

How does the software receive sync from the SMPTE input of my MOTU 828 mark II? Does it convert to Midi TimeCode (MTC)?

The 828 mark II converts SMPTE into ASIO2 sync, so your application must support ASIO2 sync. It does not convert to MTC, as this would require the 828mkII to create a virtual MIDI port.
