When I try and load my Digidesign hardware (via CoreAudio) in Digital Performer 4.1, I get the spinning wheel and it never loads.

This is a known issue with Digital Performer 4.1.
The workaround is to install Digital Performer 4.0 or 4.0.1, load the Digidesign hardware, and then update to Digital Performer 4.1. It should now work with your Digidesign hardware.
