Trashing preferences has been found to help this problem.
1. Quit all applications 2. Open the Mac HD and then the folders in this order Users > House icon (your username) > Library > Preferences > Digital Performer 3. Inside this Digital Performer folder, drag the file "preferences" and the file "filter definitions" into the trash. 4. Empty the trash and restart the computer. 5. Launch DP again and immediately go to "Open Audio MIDI Setup" and verify that midi is configured correctly. Next, got to SETUP > Configure Audio System > Configure Hardware driver, and make sure your audio hardware is setup again.
