I'm trying to loop an MP3 that I created in Pro Tools but it doesn't loop smoothly. There is silence added to the beginning of the MP3 file.
A:
This is an artifact of the MP3 encoding process and is not specific to Pro Tools. MP3's are comprised of frames which all must have the same number of samples in them.
For Example:
If the audio file contains 44100 samples and each frame contains 10000 samples the encoder would add 5900 silent samples to the beginning of the file.
