Q:
I just bought TRacks and/or Amplitube for my Mac, but the version in the box is for OS9 only, and I have only OSX. How will the upgrade work?
A:
According to IK Multimedia's website (01/30/04), anyone that purchases T-RackS after 12/1/03 or purchased Amplitube after 4/1/03 is eligible for a free upgrade to the OSX version of the software. If you purchased the software before the above dates, it will be a paid upgrade.
Currently for AmpliTube and T-RackS, When you purchase either AmpliTube or T-RackS, you will not receive the OSX versions on the discs. You do NOT have to install the software on OS9 first. But you will need to REGISTER the software. You will be able to register the software with JUST the serial number card that came with the OS9 software. Once that is done, go back to the User Area with the username and password that was generated from your registering, go to "Download Software Updates" and download the OSX update (which is a full installer). Install the OSX version of the software. When you launch the software for the first time, it will give you a digital ID. Take this digital ID to IK Multimedia's website, to the User area, and go to "REQUEST AN AUTHORIZATION" Once the authorization is submitted, you'll get an email from IK Multimedia with the authorization code you'll need to fully enable the software.
