Q:
Will the FireWire 410 work in a stand-alone mode without being plugged into the computer for software control?
A:
The FireWire 410 is a software controlled hardware audio interface; this software control is accessible only through the computer interface. However the MIDI implementation of the FireWire 410 does allow for a MIDI Thru function when the device is either powered off or has been disabled using the power button.
MIDI Thru – Located to the right of the Headphone 2 Amp knob. When this button is engaged, the MIDI In port will route to the MIDI Out port via hardware connection, disabling the software control.
