Q:
I downloaded a software update for Mac OSX (e.g. v10.3.3 updater), and when I try to install it, an error tells me my computer isn't "qualified" for this update.
A:
Most apple updates online are only available if they are upgrades within the same OS. For example, to upgrade to Mac OS 10.3.3, you must already have OS 10.3 "Panther" installed. If you tried to use the 10.3.3 updater on a system with OS 10.2 "Jaguar", it won't work.
Another common mistake is that people download the Mac OS "Server" updates instead of the regular updates. These updates are not usable on desktop and laptop Macs.
