Q:
All lights lit up on MBox, but can not run the firmware updater to correct it. It does not detect the MBox.
A:
You may need to install the "Digidesign MBox Firmware Upgrade Mode" driver
To do this go to "Device Manager" Start / Control Panel / System or right click on "My Computer" and choose Properties Click on "Hardware" tab Click on "Device Manager" Expand "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers" by clicking on the + sign next to it. You should see an "Unkown Device" listed with a yellow question mark by it. This is probably your MBox - (if you see "Digidesign MBox" listed then the MBox driver is installed and the "Unkown Device" is most likely not the MBox). Right click on the "Unknown Device" and choose "Update Driver". Choose "Install from a list or specific location" click "Next". Choose "Search for the best driver in these locations" uncheck "Search removable media" if it is checked and put a check mark by "Include the location in search" and enter in or browse to the following path: C:\Program Files\Digidesign\Drivers Click "Next" and "Finish" this should install the "Digidesign MBox (Firmware upgrade mode)" driver. At this point you should be able to successfully run the firmware updater and correct the problem of all the lights being lit up on the MBox. After running the firmware updater the device wizard may pop up saying it has found new hardware - if this happens let the device wizard automatically install the driver by clicking "Next". It should find the standard MBox driver with no problems.
