Q:
Can the Kurzweil KME61 use keyboard splits or zones to transmit one zone out MIDI to another instrument and one locally? Or to transmit multiple MIDI channels?
A:
Yes! There are 3 zones available in Setup mode, you can set the zones, transposition / octave shifts for each, MIDI transmit channel. What you'd do is go to Setup mode so you display the patch name on the bottom line, use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to the left of the display to step through the setup menus, set the local KME61 program to none (by scrolling up from program A1) for the channel you wish to transmit to MIDI. Then, scroll down to the MIDI Channel: None and change it to the desired MIDI channel. Do the same for the other zones. If you want a zone to play locally on the KME61, simply set the KME61 program, the MIDI channel transmit is defaulted to None. It's very flexible. See section 4 of your manual for more information.
