What are the minimum computer requirements for Digital Performer 4.5?

While the bare minimum requirement for DP4.5 to play MIDI only (no audio) is a Power Mac with OS 10.2, it is strongly recommended that DP4.5 be used on a G4 (733 or faster) with at least 512MB of RAM.

Keep in mind that processor speed and RAM will have a direct effect on DP4.5 performance - the faster the processor and the more RAM you have, the better DP4.5 will perform: more tracks, plugins, instruments, etc. It is also important to note that using third party software in DP (plugins, virtual instruments, etc) can heavily tax RAM and CPU very hard.

We also recommend having the latest compatible Mac OS. If you're running Mac OS 10.2 Jaguar, be sure to update to v10.2.8. If you're running Mac OS 10.3, be sure to update to v10.3.5 (or the newest approved version).

Because of the number and size of windows necessary to properly view DP, a 17-inch or larger monitor is recommend.
