Q:
I just installed my EMU 1820(m) interface and when I play audio through it, after a few seconds, the system completely freezes. Working with a Dell Dimension 4300.
A:
In many cases, this is not a defective unit. Rather, it may be related to older BIOS versions or Chipset drivers being present on the motherboard.
If running and intel based chipset and BIOS, there may be updates that can be run that will most likely resolve these issues. Confirmed to work for older DELL computers. Worked with: Dell Dimension 4300 Note: Intel provides a chipset detection utility that can detect any intel based chipset. If the program fails to see a chipset type, the computer does not have an intel chipset. Otherwise, there are many updates available for Intel chipset and BIOS types.
