Q:
The authorization screen for the ProTools MP3 Codec isn’t giving him the option to authorize. The Authorization button is greyed out.
 
A:
Remove the MP3.dll file found in MacHD>Applications>Digidesign>Codecs>MP3>MP3.dll

Then run the MP3 Codec Update from the ProTools installer.
