Pro Audio Support

Q:
Cannot record to my New Drive in Protools on my Windows Xp Service Pack 2 PC

A:
Make sure the hard disk you are using is designated as a "Basic
Drive"
Windows XP Service Pack 2, when you add a new hard drive, the partition is created so the disk is a “Dynamic” disk. ProTools will NOT allow Audio Recordings to a disk that is “Dynamic” - only "Basic" disks.
If your new disk was already formatted as a Dynamic Partition
you must reformat it as a BASIC disk, then Protools will record to it.
