What is the difference between Firewire 400 and 800 specifications?
A:
The main difference is bandwidth. Firewire 400 is really all you need for audio applications unless you’re running 48 tracks at 192 kHz. That tends to max out the bandwidth of 400. In that case, switch to 800.
