Q:
I have a self-powered Audio Technica AT822 microphone. If I use a XLR to 1/4" adapter with my AT822 to connect to my MicroTrack 24/96, I get hissing noise instead of audio from the Mic. What can I do?

A:
Make sure that the phantom power on the MicroTrack 24/96 is turned off. The AT822 is a self-powered microphone that does not require- or accept additional power for operation. Do not use phantom power while the AT822 is plugged into the MicroTrack as this may in fact damage the microphone.
