Q:
Some Garritan/SONAR issues.
A:
Sonar is used by many GPO users as attested to by many of the demos on the GPO site. Once set-up, Sonar is reliable and gives some of the best performance. Cakewalk has recently posted an update so make sure to download the latest patch for Sonar 3, Sonar has the 'stuck note' issue as mentioned above but has a reset which will turn all notes off without having to exit the program.
• DXi Tempo Bug: When a note is held across a tempo change, this will result in the note sticking forever. USER WORKAROUND by Paul Giangregorio "The work-around is to enter a note at the same pitch right after the note-off of the long note which would have otherwise held (and make the new small note inaudible). Some times it takes more than one! But at least it works." • GPO Instrument Presets not getting saved: Some users have reported that they save their work but next time they load it up the instruments have disappeared from the 2nd and 3rd slots - they just show Empty (even though they have used these instruments in earlier versions without this issue) WORKAROUND: Make sure your slots are filled consecutively and that none are skipped. You can remedy it by filling up some of the lower slots in sequential order and then the settings should saved. • WDM Drivers in GPO Studio and SONAR GPO Studio cannot use the WDM kernel streaming that Sonar uses - it must use ASIO. Sonar can use either WDM KS or ASIO. If using GPO Studio set your sound card to use ASIO only. • Audio has Unexpectedly Dropped Out This is a Sonar issue and addressed at the official Cakewalk support site. (from garritan.com) |
