To use Emulator X as a VSTI in Cubase
1 Launch PatchMix DSP 2 Click the New Session button on the toolbar. 3 Click on the 44k/48k tab and select 44.1 Default MultiTrack. 4 Launch Cubase 5 Click the Inspector icon to open the Track Info. 6 Select one of the MIDI Tracks. 7 Select E-DSP MIDI Port as the MIDI Out port 8 Select Panels then VST Instruments from the menu Devices: Choose VST Instruments 9 Click on the drop downlist displaying "No VST Instrument" and select E-Mu, Emulator X. 10 Select Emulator X as the MIDI Out port of your selected Midi track 11 In the VST Instruments window, click on Edit and Emulator X will open. 12 Click on the Library tab at the bottom of Emulator X. 13 Right click on the bank you want to load and click on "Load". 14 Select the Sampler tab and check that your Presets are loaded. 15 Play your MIDI keyboard. The MIDI activity lights should flash on Emulator X.
