Thompson (Course Technology) has had some issues with batches that were shipped this way.

One solution they offer is to look on the disk itself for a 6 digit sequence which will look like either CSS123 or CSM123. Simply put these 6 digits on the front of the 9 digit serial number you recieved and enter that code. This should unlock the CD for you.
