You probably have not made it active in project 5. Go to Options > MIDI Devices, and look fo your controller on the left-hand columns, "Available MIDI Input/Output devices." Highlight the controller, and click the right-facing arrow to send it to the list of Active Ports. Press "OK" when finished. You will now be able to use your MIDI controller in Project 5.
