Q:
How do I save and load user voices with Smart Media cards on a Yamaha Motif?
A:
Regular User Voices and User Drum Kit Voices are all saved together into a folder on a Smart Media Card, using the 'All Voice' Save function. Voices can be loaded back in individually, if desired, by using the 'Voice' Load function. When loading in a single Voice, the Bank buttons can be used to select the Regular User Voice Bank, or the User Drum Kit Voice Bank.
Saving User Voices: Insert a formatted Smart Media Card into the Smart Media Card Slot. Press the [FILE] button. Press the [F1] 'CONFIG' button. Press the [SF1] 'CURRENT' button. Turn the Dial to display 'Current CARD' in the screen. Press the [F2] 'SAVE' button. Turn the Dial to display 'TYPE All Voice' in the screen. Use the Cursor buttons to move the cursor in between the '[' and ']' brackets in the screen. Name the folder to which the User Voices will be saved. Press the [ENTER] button to save the User Voices into the folder on the Smart Media Card. This may take a minute or so. Loading User Voices: Press the [F3] 'LOAD' button. Dial 'TYPE Voice' in the screen. Cursor to the folder containing the User Voices on the right side of the screen. Press the [ENTER] button. Select the Regular 'User Voice Bank' or 'User Drum Kit Voice Bank': To select the Regular User Voice bank, press the [USER] button. To select the User Drum Kit Voice bank, press and hold the [DRUM KITS] button, then press the [USER] button. Cursor to a desired Voice in the screen to be loaded. Press the [ENTER] button.
