When I plug the USB from my AKAI MPK49 into a computer, the MIDI output stops functioning.
A:
When the MPK49 MIDI is connected the built in MIDI port functions as a MIDI interface instead of outputting MIDI directly from the keys.
Most computer recording software will allow you to set up a MIDI track to route and echo that signal back out the MIDI port.
