Q:
How do I send patch/program changes to the Receptor from my MIDI controller?

A:
Here are some specific instructions for how to send patch/program changes to the Receptor from a controller. You may substitute any plug-in, but for this example we will create a Multi Test Bank and use 4Front Piano Module as our instruments.

For info on how to setup a Multi, view the "Staged Multi Load and Save Basics" video here:

For a video tutorial on how to send patch/program changes to the Receptor from a controller, view "Staged MIDI Program Changes -Multis:

http://www.museresearch.com/movies/theater/

For this to work, make sure you have a MIDI controller connected to your Receptor.

1. In Receptor mix page, load a blank Multi.
2. On Receptor channel 1 load 4Front Piano Module.
3. Create a new Multi Bank call it "Test Bank" and save this as "Test Patch 1"
4. On Receptor channel 2 add another 4Front Piano Moduleand save this as "Test Patch 2"

You should now have one Multi bank that looks like the following:

Test Bank
001: Test Patch 1
002: Test Patch 2

5. Now load "001 Test Patch1."

6. Open to the SETUP window and use following settings in the MIDI section:

* Program Changes = Ignore Bank Select and Target Multis.
* Program Change Channel = ALL.

7. Send a patch change to patch 002 on MIDI channel 1 from your controller.

Result:

The patch should have changed to "002: Test Patch 2"

To verify this, locate the INFO section in the lower left of the Receptor SETUP window. There you will see Last Program change values that were received. Since "Ignore Bank Select" was selected MSL/LSB values can be ignored. Look for PGM/Ch: ---/--- you should now see PGM/Ch: 002/001. If this is true open to the Receptor mixer, Test Patch 002 would be the one that loaded.

Note:

For patch changes to work, you must have the multi loaded before you start sending program changes to the receptor.
