A:
Tascam DA30 Information Update November 1, 1991
Since the introduction of the DA-30 some eighteen months ago, it has become a standard piece of equipment in the professional studio environment. TASCAM is now happy to announce that all DA-30 DAT recorders can be modified to set the SCMS status bits of ID6 (copy prohibit flag) of original recordings made via the Analog or AES/EBU digital inputs to 00 thus allowing users to make unlimited copies of such recordings via S/P DIF (consumer) port. This modification is carried out by cutting the Jumper Wire W-402 on the Digital PCB assembly.
