(A) Setting up OMS
1. Install OMS 2.3.8, then install FreeMIDI 1.45 ... restart your computer. 2. Launch OMS Setup (opcode folder, OMS folder) and create a new setup. *make sure the IAC driver is enabled & that OMS shows the IAC driver. 3. In the Edit menu choose OMS MIDI setup. Make sure Run MIDI in background is enabled. 4. Save the new OMS setup then Quit OMS (B) Setting up ProTools and Cubase to sync; 1. Launch ProTools FIRST. In the session setup window check "MTC to port" and choose theIAC bus. 2. Launch Cubase. 3. In the Options menu, choose the MIDI Setup pop-up, and choose MIDI System 4. Verify that "OMS Compatibility" is set to "In & Out". Then click "Input From" to choose "IAC Driver". 5. In the Options menu, choose "Synchronization". Then select "MTC" as the Time Code Base. Select "Any" for "From Input" *You can also set the frame rate to match that of ProTools. 6. In the Options menu, choose "Play in Background" 7. Click The SYNC button in Cubase's transport window. 8. Now you can return to ProTools and hit play to start both sequences.
