Q:
When I launch ProTools , I get a DAE Deck Error ,then ProTools quits ProTools 5.x DAE Deck Error
A:
1.First make sure no programs are running.
2.Go into your mac hardrive and then into your System Folder. In your System Folder you will see a folder called "Prefrences".OPEN this folder and view its contents as a list. You will need to Trash the following files. DAE Preffs (Folder) Digisetup (File) Pro Tools LE v5.x Preferences (File) 3.Once these items are in your Trash , you can Empty the Trash. 4.Next go to your Apple Menu in the top left corner.Under the apple , goto the control panels folder and select "Sound" from the sub menu.Make sure that "Built-in" is selected for both Sound in and Sound out. NOT "Digidesign".Close up the Sound control panel when you are done. 5.Shut the computer down. 6.With the computer OFF , make sure the PCI Card for the Digi001 is firmly seated in its slot. You should reseat it if possible.(Take out and put back in again...) 7.Now check that the black cable conecting the Pci Card to your 001 is firmly seated on BOTH ends. 8.Now boot the CPU up and launch Protools from its application icon IN the Digidesign folder. 9. Protools should boot up ok. If not and you followed these instructions to the "T" , you could have a Hardware issue. Contact Service
