A. Setting up FreeMIDI (1.46 preferred)
1. Follow the steps to create a FreeMIDI setup. Be sure that FreeMIDI automatically detects your MIDI interface. 2. From the CONFIGURATION menu, choose Create Device. Choose Manufacturer=Mackie, Model=HUI. Specify which port of the MIDI interface the HUI is connected to. (do not change any other properties in the HUI device specification) 3. Save FreeMID and Quit. B. Setting up Digital Performer (version 2.72 or higher preferred). 1. Launch DP, and either create a new Project, or open and existing project. 2. From the BASICS menu, choose "Control Surface Setup", and make the following settings: Hardware=HUI, MIDI Communication=HUI see topic: Problems getting Digital Performer to recognize the HUI or the Motormix (using the HUI driver)
