Q:
How do I connect my mixer to the ins and outs of my sound card, so I can route audio to and from my computer?
A:
A: If you’re using a 1202VLZPRO or a 1402VLZPRO connect the Alt 3/4 outputs on the back of the mixer to the input of your computers sound card. To route audio through the mixer to the input of the sound card, you'll need to bring audio into a channel, perform the level set procedure and mute the channel. When muting the channel, the signal gets cut out of the main mix and re-routed to the Alt 3/4 output. Now audio is going to the sound card. To bring audio out of the sound card and back into the mixer for monitoring, connect outputs of the sound card back into one of the stereo line input channels (left and right). Turn up the gain on that channel and the audio is now being routed to the main mix. You can monitor what is going to your computer’s input by engaging Alt 3/4 in the control room source section. If you would like to hear the returns from the computer, engage main mix in the source section and you'll be hearing the outputs from the computer’s sound card.
