Q:
How can I obtain a firmware upgrade for my Axon?
A:
Please call Music Industries National Service Center at 1-800-822-2942 to obtain an Return Authorization Number. Please be forewarned that units returned to us without an RA number will be uniformly refused at the door and returned directly to the sender.
The upgrade will involve returning the unit to our service center in New York for removal, erasure, and re-burning of the EPROM. This procedure normally involves a two day turnaround, in most cases. The unit must be returned to us for the upgrade. This assures that the work will be done in the proper fashion by a qualified technician, ensuring a long, happy, life together for you and your Axon unit. No advance chips will be sent out for user install. No how, no way. No exceptions. We’re serious. Firmware upgrades are free for the first six months of ownership, with an appropriate sales receipt. (Hint; Make it a point to call us at 5 months, 2 weeks.) After six months, there is a $50 fee, which covers the upgrade, labor, new documentation (if necessary) and return shipping to the user. This fee must be included as a money order or certified check at the time the unit is returned to us for upgrade. This offer is open to owners of second hand Axon units as well.
