The AW4416 is not capable of doing sample rate conversions, i.e. if a song is recorded at a sample rate of 48 kHz the AW4416 is not capable of converting it to a sample rate of 44.1 kHz.

IMPORTANT: If the desired end product is going to be a CD created in the AW4416, then the song must be recorded at a sample rate of 44.1 kHz.

The AW4416 is capable of dithering down to 16 bit when creating a CD, therefore, the song can be recorded in either 16 or 24 bit mode.

If a song has already been recorded at a sample rate of 48 kHz, an external sample rate converter could be used to record at 44.1 kHz to an external digital recorder, such as a DAT machine or CDR.

NOTE: It is not possible to send a 48 kHz mix from the AW4416 out to an external sample rate converter and then record it back into the AW4416 at 44.1 kHz in one step.
