I am entering notes with my mouse, and want to enter a quarter note as two tied eighth notes. This doesn't work. What can I do?

One pre-defined parameter in the notation window is Interpretation. This is very useful for creating a legible score after real-time recording. If you want to enter notes with the mouse however, it is generally best to deactivate this option.
