I can't get get Viewnet for my Tascam MX2424 to work on my Pentium 4. What's wrong?

The current version of Java Runtime (which is used by Viewnet) has problems running on Pentium 4 computers. This will cause the program to simply not startup (there will be no errors displayed.)
