Q:
What amount of CPU load does TC POWERCORE put on my computer?

A:
MacOS: Using TC POWERCORE Plug-Ins version 1.5 will have a host CPU load of about 2% per plug-in.

Windows MP Machines There is an issue when using TC POWERCORE on Multi-Processing Machines. CPU Load can run very high. This is fixed in version 1.6 of the TC POWERCORE software, available at the end of March.
Windows 98, ME, 2000 & XP: Using TC POWERCORE Plug-Ins version 1.5 will have a host CPU load less than 1% per plug-in. The first plug-in used in a Multi-Processing host application will have a heavier CPU host load of approximately 10% of a CPU. The remaining plug-ins will behave normally, adding only about 1% per Plug-In.
Improving Host CPU Loads in MacOS & Windows: It is possible to increase the Host CPU Load of POWERCORE Plug-Ins by decreasing the Buffer settings to reduce latency. Likewise, it is possible to decrease the Host CPU Load of POWERCORE Plug-Ins by increasing the Buffer settings to increase latency. In a mixing situation, we recommend a buffer setting of 1024 samples for best performance.
