Q:
How do I fix the error message in Cakewalk or Sonar "Audio driver does not support the current sample rate or is in use by another application" with my Aardvark card?
A:
Go into your Aardvark manager control panel and make sure that the sample rate matches what Cakewalk's or Sonar's sample rate.
Disable system sounds & Windows from using your audio card. Check our PC optimization guides by typing PC OPTIMIZATION in Sweetcare's Knowledgebase search for steps to do this. In Cakewalk or Sonar, go to Options - Audio - Drivers and make sure all inputs of only one soundcard are selected. Exit & Relaunch the software. Physically remove any Soundblaster cards you may have in your system. Some of these are known to conflict with Pro-audio cards. Make sure in Options - Audio - Advanced that the "Always use MME..." is checked. Delete your AUD.ini from your Cakewalk directory (C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 or C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Sonar\Sonar 1 folders.
