When I sync my external tape or hard disk recorder to Pro Tools via MTC...

When I sync my external tape or hard disk recorder to Pro Tools via MTC, why does it start at 60 minutes on my external unit? How can I get it to sync at 0:00:00?

Pro Tools defaults to a Session Start time of 00:01:00:00 (60 minutes), and therefore also sends MTC out starting at that time. Change this by going into Pro Tools under Windows - Show Session Setup. Change Session Start Time it to 00:00:00:00. This will start MTC generation at zero.
