Q:
Can I use the digital routing/bouncing feature in an ADAT system that includes an O2R or other digital mixer?
A:
No. You must leave Dig In on the BRC OFF. The BRC digital routing feature is designed to function in a closed loop system with the output of the first ADAT connected to the second, the second connected to the third, etc., with the output of the last ADAT or ADAT Optical-compliant device returning to the digital input of the first ADAT. Sync cables also must be connected to all ADATs in the chain.
Generally when using a digital mixer you would have the ADATs connected in a "star" configuration, with each ADAT connected to a group of eight channels in the mixer. In this case, you must enable Digital Input on each individual ADAT and control the routing via the mixer.
