The following list describes enhancements to the Roland VS-2480 Digital Studio
Workstation within software version 2.008. Refer to the documentation included with
the update disk/files available from Roland Corporation US for the update procedure.
UTILITY: GLOBAL PRM
1. When the Knob/Fader Assign Sw is assigned to Fader and the
Knob/Fader Sw is pressed to ON, the FX Return amount to AUX
busses may be controlled by fader movements… making it much easier
to control effects levels sent to the AUX busses for creating alternate
mixes with effects (i.e. independent headphone mixes).
The following problems have been corrected in version 2.008 software.
GENERAL
1. Intermittent drive directory issues addressed with software improvements.
a. After performing a “Store Current” operation, the VS-2480
may have locked up during the operation and could have
possibly corrupted the directory.
b. When recorded Automix data was saved in a project, the
project size displayed may have been corrupted, or the
remaining space displayed on the drive partition may have
been greatly reduced.
c. A certain isolated number of takes listed in the TakeList could
cause directory corruption or lockups.
CDRW: CD PLAYER
1. Directly after performing a CD PLAYER function, the Track Status
buttons would not change from PLAY (green) status without reloading
the project or initializing the mixer.
CDRW: WAV IMPORT
1. When previewing 8 bit (or less) .wav files with very long file names,
there was a problem that would restart or lockup the VS-2480.
EZ ROUTING (VGA Only!)
1. When attempting to make track assignments for performing a Track
Bounce operation, there was a problem when using the mouse to
assign source tracks to destination tracks when previous adjacent
tracks were linked.
AUTOMIX
1. Automix data would playback intermittently or not at all when the VS-2480
was set to be an MTC slave.
2. In Automix MicroEdit mode, the measure/beat/tick display was
incorrect. Beats at the start of the measure were displayed as 00, when
the correct display should have been 01.
VS-2480 Update Information: Version 2.005

The following problems have been corrected in version 2.005 software.
CDRW: CD WRITE / CD BACKUP
1. Intermittent problems regarding the inability to burn audio or backup
CDs from partitions other than IDE:0 were corrected in this software
version.
