Q:
How do I avoid losing my plug-in setting names when transferring a Pro Tools TDM session to a Pro Tools LE 5.2 system?
A:
When transferring sessions between LE and TDM systems, plug-in settings should be copied to the session's Plug-In setting folder. This helps restore the proper plug-in preset names. Note that even though the settings name will be wrong, the proper settings will be restored.
The Plug-In Settings folder can be found: Mac Hard Drive > System Folder > DAE folder > Plug-In Settings folder. In the Plug-In window: Click on the black triangle drop down menu > Save Settings > Name settings and save in the plug-ins settings folder for that plug-in.
