Q:
How does Digidesign hardware deal with Copy Prohibit and SCMS? Does Digi hardware pass it through, or strip it?
A:
All Digidesign products ignore all Channel Status data including SCMS. Digidesign hardware outputs Channel Status data indicating original recordings within the "DAT" Category Code, thereby allowing multiple copies to be made.Unfortunately, some DAT Machines interpret this Category Code as a flag to enable SCMS or Copy Prohibit.
