Q:
No audio from 888 I/O outputs, even though there is activity on the meters.
A:
- System not powered up correctly. Turn on the 888 and the hard drives, then boot the Mac. This allows the Digi INIT to initialize the 888.- Wrong Peripheral selected in Hardware setup window. Select 888 I/O.- Incompatible version of DAE (use the DAE that came with Pro Tools).- TDM Ribbon cable not seated properly or is damaged.- Verify that the Mode switch on the back of the 888 is set to 8 CH Mode (button should be in).- Verify the 50-pin cable is connected to the Computer 1 port on the 888 (some older 888's have a Computer 2 port).- Check the ends of the 50-pin cable for bent or broken pins.- One user reported that skipping a TDM node between cards resolved this.
