Noise burst recorded to Pro Tools tracks from ADAT with ADAT Bridge I/O and the MOTU Digital Time Piece.
 
A:
This is a possibility if Pro Tools starts recording before the ADAT is totally locked up (resolved). Before the ADAT resolves, it can send out noise bursts. If the ADAT is resolved before Pro Tools starts recording, this will not be an issue.To avoid this, increase the amount of pre-roll (in Pro Tools) giving the ADAT time to lock up before Pro Tools starts recording. 10 to 15 seconds of pre-roll may be necessary.
