Q:
How should I configure my win98 AMIII system in to ensure optimal performance of Pro Tools?
A:
The following settings should be applied:* Control Panels-->multimedia-->audio tab-->set the preferred device for recording and playback to the Digidesign AM III: Ch 1-2 * Control Panels-->multimedia-->devices tab-->audio devices-->check that "Audio for Digidesign Multimedia Devices" is the onlydevice listed* Control Panels-->sounds-->set the Schemes to "No Sounds"* My Computer's-->Properties-->Device Manager-->Disk drives properties settings have the DMA enabled* My Computer's-->Properties-->Device Manager-->other devices (if present) need to be disabled in this hardware profile* My Computer's-->Properties-->Device Manager-->Sound, Video and Game Controllers needs to list the Digidesign Audiomedia IIIcard. Additional drivers in this window may cause conflicts within Pro Tools.
