Q:
Using OMS Names I can create my own libraries, but I can only access 128 voices. Is there a way I access all the voices inside of a given module?
A:
Most MIDI devices nowadays (sound modules and keyboards) have more than 128 internal voices/patches. Some MIDI management software allow you to access all those voices at once. However, as of this date, OMS Names only allows you to access them in banks of 128 at a time. The MIDI device you are using should be able to respond to bank select messages, allowing you to swap between banks of 128 voices, thereby giving you access to the full range of 256 or more voices. To add banks to the OMS Names Application, in the Names dialog select "View/Edit Patch Names" from the "Names" menu. From there select "Add Bank" from the "Patches" dialog.
