Q:
Universal Slave Driver (USD) display will not show timecode while "Use Serial Timecode for Positional Reference" is selected in the Peripherals > Machine Control dialogue.
 
A:
This is normal operation, as the USD is not dealing with Timecode at all when Serial Timecode is being used. The Generate light does turn on in this mode, but in actuality the USD is only being used as an extremely precise blackburst interpreter between the video reference input and Pro Tools.
